Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade an item of armor, the player has to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the necessary component or materials.
There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from the previous versions. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a set number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of those items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it is reset to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to receive affixes that will enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's type. For example, a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes for it and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will have lower chances of success.
To measure the height of a structure engineers utilize an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. no title is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level before turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important aspect of the game that can increase the damage, strength or other characteristics. You can do this via the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in very rare instances.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which can be used to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the level of filling.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more frequently than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for all stats. This can be a great or a negative thing depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may also be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are rolled into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the greater your chances of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also features a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is a great way to give a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different sizes, contain no elements at all, or contain just one element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.
There are a range of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others are not. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Certain set items are upgraded for their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to par with the different tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant increase in their power. It will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated look.
